We believe that everyone who attends User Research North should be made to feel equal and treated with respect and we want you to feel safe and welcomed.

When coming to User Research North, please remember:

  • If you attend or speak at one of our events, you adhere to our Code of Conduct.
  • Our events are for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, or religion. We support The Diversity Charter.
  • We have zero tolerance for harassment. We regard harassment to mean violence towards another, offensive verbal abuse (related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, or religion), displaying explicit or vulgar images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
  • If you’re asked to stop any harassing behaviour, we expected to you do so without delay. Action may be taken which we deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion, banning or contacting the authorities.
  • If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please speak to a member of User Research North or event staff immediately.

In short… don’t be a dick.

If you disagree with anything here or think something should be added, let us know. If you ever feel uncomfortable speaking to us in person, you can always send us a message on Twitter or email us at userresearchnorth@gmail.com.
