Lessons Learnt!

  1. Seeking outside support

At some point of time in our lives we all have been there. We all feel emotionally broken sometimes. Sometimes situations overpower us. We can not think clearly. We do not see a way out of the situations we are stuck in. And we seek out the emotional support from the outside world, from people around us. But, I learnt over the time that how suicidal this tendency is!

I am strictly against seeking and emotionally support from outside. Albeit, we can surely seek guidance from an expert who has knowldge of the peculiar situation or advice of someone who has been in similar situation and successfully overcome it. But I do not recommend seeking emotional support from the outsiders.

We all have unique socio economic backgrounds, we all have unique aspirations, we all have varying personalities. Nobody else can understand you, as much as you understand yourself. Nobody else knows your circumstances better than you do. And hence, it makes you the most eligible person to see support from in situations of crisis. Seeking external support many a times can make you emotionally dependent and addictive of such an external support as it feels nice for a time being. But this tendency to seek support or motivation from the outside world does not help you.

Nobody can come and live your life for you. You have to do it yourself. Its you who have to live your life. Take your own decisions, have faith in yourself and depend only upon yourself for emotional support as far as possible.

2. What do you control

We all know that only control we have upon is our own actions and behavior. But how ironic is the fact that except for it, we try to control everything else in the world. We try to control behavior of other people, we try to control outcomes of the situations, we try to control attitude of others towards us. We try to control every damn thing but ourselves, our thoughts, our actions, our emotions. We put in least efforts to control what is controllable and emotionally draining efforts in controlling what can not be controlled!

Next time try putting your energy in controlling your actions, your thoughts instead of controlling the world!
