The Pilot Green Hydrogen Project in Turkey Has Started to Produce Hydrogen
Enerjisa Üretim made a hydrogen production and storage investment as a pilot project at Bandırma Energy Base with an investment of 200,000 € and started to produce green hydrogen.
In the global sense; many sectors, especially the energy sector, use sustainable energy resources for decarbonization and many investments are being made in this field. In order to produce green hydrogen at the facility, a production and storage facility was established by investing 200,000 €. In addition, a cooperation protocol was signed for the green hydrogen plant at Bandırma Energy Base. The relevant protocol was signed by the South Marmara Development Agency, Enerjisa Üretim, Eti Maden, TÜBİTAK MAM and Aspilsan. In the fight against climate change and global warming, there will be an increase in the need and use of hydrogen in the world in order to decarbonize industries. In addition, according to calculations, Turkey has a hydrogen export capacity of 1.9 million tons by 2050.
Turkey has many advantages for green hydrogen production. There is a search for cooperation for the export of green hydrogen to the EU. Hydrogen Valley Projects gain importance within the scope of the Green Deal. Bandirma, the Northern Aegean and the entire Aegean Region are very rich in terms of renewable energy resources. These regions also have a high potential for hydrogen investors.
