Did you really think
These walls of blackened stone
My misery manifest
This fort of mine
I built
Adding bricks with every failure
Moats and armaments to protect
The fort
Sultry ballistae and grey walls
Could be penetrated
As easily as this?
You are but a spray of water
Against the foundations
Of what I hold dear
A breath against my melancholy
Compared to the tsunami that
She was

Break me
Choke me
Walk into my lungs
Like she did
and leave me gasping
On the shore
And maybe I will love you.
