Great article, Tobias! It’s pretty sad that most of the people would never agree with it though. They will say that you are priveleged to choose what you want to do even though everybody has an opportunity to do the same, it just takes some effort to get there.
People will say that your article is bs just to defend their “own world.” It’s difficult to accept that you can change your life and do what you love to do, but it’s much easier to say that all these ideas are bs and continue hating your job.
Another point, as you mentioned, is that it’s all about perspective and how you view things. Every job can become interesting if you have a positive attitude. Here’s a great example of my dad. In his earlier twenties, he had to work at a conveyor belt on a factory. Everybody would probably hate this job. But he found a way to make it quite interesting — he challenged himself to operate faster than the conveyor belt and set some goals to accomplish. Yes, it still wasn’t his dream job, but he made a boring job fun and interesting.
In the end, what really matters is perspective and how you view things.
