Some of the things I look for in a ‘successful’ micro-interaction are the use of ‘clean narratives,’ ruthless attention to detail, drives usability, craftsmanship, strong design, clean and crisp on the animation front, single unified motion, minimal cognitive load. A few more things, but these are the broad strokes.
