You Are Going to Switch to Figma

Thanks for the article — some good reasons to give Figma a try. I only dabbled with it briefly.

My only concern is that it’s SaaS (no standalone app) and that it’s an early startup. What if in a years time after I invested in Figma, the company either folds or gets acquired. Since there is no desktop version (not the electron version) I’d be screwed. With Sketch at least I have the latest version that works offline.

Look at what happened to Pixate. It was a great prototyping tool, but then the team was acquired by Google and the tool eventually was shut down.
