Visa- It’s Every Where You Want To Be…
Wanna work in Australia? You need a visa.
How about France? Visa.
Greece? Visa.
Why is it so hard to get a visa?
I’ve been curious about what it would be like to work/live abroad. I’ve looked into it but, it seems some government official in some government office has decided that the one thing I need should be trapped in a perpetual Catch 22.
You see, in order to get a work visa you first need a job but to get a job I need a visa. “Visa g-ds, why must you play with my emotions so?”
Then just the other night, I encountered a website that could be the visual representation of every visa related frustration I’ve ever had. This site was a mash of information. There seemed to be no order, no rhyme or reason.
Don’t trust me? Have a look: http://www.workpermit.com
I had no idea where to go first on this site. The visual noise was astounding. There was no hierarchy of information and color selection did not seem to serve any obvious purpose.
After only a few minuets I was thoroughly frustrated and ready to give up when I noticed, “chat” option. (Thank the heavens!)
I optimistically opened the chat window, expecting to receive a wealth of information from the visa expert. Boy was I wrong. Instead of a personal greeting and an encouraging offer to help, I received an automated response directing me to email the company.
I suppose I should have given up at this point but I had a little time and I was just too curious. Maybe if I just stuck with it, workpermit.com was going to tell me how to get a work permit.
Well, that didn’t happen. I emailed the site and to date, I still have not received a response.
I’m not holding my breath.
