0 - step on my way to become a UX-designer
So this will be my UX diary about becoming a UX-designer.
I’ve been always wondering about how I should follow my own process of evolving in field of UX and show this for others (beginners, seniors, potential collegues) in the meantime. And then I find Medium, and I thought I will write a diary about all my problems and challanges which I face day in day out.
This is my 0-step, when I try to write about the actualities. These are the following:
- I started the following courses (all at once)
User Experience for the Web — WebUX
Wireframing, Prototyping, Mockuping — What’s the Difference? — Designmodo
Intro to the Design of Everyday Things — Udacity - I started the following books also (almost all at once :P)
Don Norman: The Design of Everyday Things
Dan Ariely: Predictably Irrational - I finished
Kevin Werbach: Gamification course — Coursera
Steve Krug: Don’t make me think
Beyond finishing these aid projects, the following
- get some ral-world experience with user research, card sorting, wireframing, and all the field and process of UX design. I believe that this helps me a lot about understanding the whole process and choosing my professionalization.
- making min. 6 (re)design project which shows how my work helped the user getting a better experience.
- Approve my English by watching a lot of UX-video (ok, maybe sometimes, I will watch some movies also :P, but I will surely concentrate to UX). Taking the TOEFL/IELTS exam.
- So after my English became acceptable (and hopefully more) I want my article published on the A List Apart’s site.
- I will become a Masterand student on MOME ID or related MA course.
- Learn to pass step by step, without wanting everything to come true at once.
- In the end of the year, I want to read these rows with a big smile on my face, saying: “yepp, this was the beginning of a hard and frightful story, but it worth it.”
So wish me luck, the journey has begun :D
