Oh, boy, do I relate even as a recent grad. The scarcity of entry-level / internship positions available creates a unique situation where a) people with experience are applying for jobs they are overqualified for (making it hard for the intended applicant to compete with) b) companies are taking advantage and violating California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement Laws with unpaid “internships” that do not favor the intern but in reality is an excuse for free work (replacing paid employees) and/or c) If you do manage to pass the 4/5 stages of the interview process + design challenges to get a job, you quickly find out that the role you applied for is not necessarily what you will actually do at that company…. 🙃
