A Social Experiment: #TweetupPushups

A motivated and inspired community, pushing themselves, just a little at a time

So I tried this experiment on a few teams at Microsoft. It was really well received and it created a rather fun, exciting and vibrant work environment!

Here’s what we did: On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, we’d do pushups right before lunch. Each person gets to do as many as they can in one run (you can rest a bit but still stay in pushup position).

The first times were always the hardest, but over time, folks got better and better and their numbers went up. The best part of this was the excitement and fun we had at work.

So I’m thinking about extending this out to a larger audience via Twitter. Where, folks that decide to participate will tweet how they did on that day. I’m not sure how it’ll go but, I guess that’s the point of an experiment.

This may come in handy for folks that:

  • Don’t have time to go to the gym
  • Or folks looking for something fun to do at work ☺
  • Have lame coworkers that don’t wanna try something fun at work. jk☺

Anyways, stay tuned on my Twitter and I’ll share more deets on this.

Thanks

Noah
