I’ve been using ReactJS with Flux for the past few months on a project and I’ve been super impressed with what I’ve seen so far! I was initially doubtful about the JSX syntax but the Components feature in React and JSX have proven to be incredibly powerful and fast! Facebook is certainly on to something here.

REACT NATIVE!!!

The big news that got the audience really excited and jacked up at the ReactJS JS 2015 Conference Keynote was React Native! This is freaking badass!!!

Imagine this awesome scenario — with the same knowledge you use to build ReactJS applications on the web, React Native will render the output to native! No DOM! No Webviews! No iFrames! Pure native components! The same React JavaScript code you write will power your native application! THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!

The keynote speaker described it best — “Learn once, Write Anywhere!” As a developer using ReactJS currently, this is incredibly appealing and will be a huge time saver for me!!!

So essentially, the transformation would look like this:

A <div> becomes <View>. <span> becomes <Text> and <img> becomes <Image> all native elements!

I’ll be blogging more about ReactJS and some of the work I’m doing with it in the coming weeks.
