Todd, I agree with the last three points you make. Curious about your ideas on Design Thinking/Science however. No, a product can not improve itself through iteration but a design that is great in its essence can be improved by involving your target audience. With respect to the examples you’ve given: I see a collection of ideas that might’ve worked but were released to the public before they were ready to be shown. More iterative prototyping behind the scenes may have resulted in products that were actually useful. It’s not always a simple case of Darwinism, I believe.
