I find this to be perhaps Lynch’s most underrated and misunderstood work. Yes, the first time I saw it, I was disappointed that so much of the clever whimsy of my beloved Twin Peaks was absent from the film. But the movie is an absolute tour de force for Sheryl Lee, whose performance was largely overlooked due to its mediocre reception. I have no qualms about revisiting Fire Walk With Me in preparation for the further adventures of Dale Cooper.
Also, as much as I love Tarantino, I find it richly ironic that he would lambaste another film-maker for disappearing up their own ass.
