So, I firmly believe that with sufficient advancements in AI and robotics, the replacement of humans in front line law enforcement will be an overwhelmingly positive development. Robots can be denied access to lethal force protocols. Robots don’t feel the need to teach a punk a lesson for questioning his authority. Robots don’t get angry and unnecessarily escalate a situation. Robots don’t get startled and shoot yoga instructors for tapping the their car to get their attention. Robots can go into a dangerous situation and if they are destroyed, its no bid deal because no police officer had to die.
