Gaudete Sunday

I’m preaching on a tiny verse tomorrow: 1 Thes 5:16 — just two words ‘rejoice always’. In thinking about what this means I’ve been thinking about solar panels. There are quite a few up around where I live in the freezing North East (near The Wall — for Game of Thrones fans). What’s that about? Solar panels in the cold north east of England? Well, solar panels, although they work best in direct sunlight, also work on overcast days. They can still absorb light. I think this is what Paul is talking about when he says ‘rejoice always’. We can always rejoice, as the light is always there, always available to us, shining in the darkness and over which the darkness shall never overcome.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
