Digitalization is a double-edged sword as it helps us connect with people around the world and provides all the information at our fingertips, but at the same time, it spreads hate and fake news like wildfire.

Previously, information was exchanged through print media or newspapers, but after digitalization, the form of information has changed from newspapers to electronic media that can be used on tablets, mobile phones, laptops, etc. And it took the world by storm.

Disadvantage of media

Creating fake news and propaganda on social media is easy. It can make or break someone’s image without hard evidence. It may also divert public attention from real issues in order to protect government interests. This is why the credibility of the media is questionable these days.

Online games are a by-product of digitalization. The 21st-century generation is passionate about games. They spend most of their time playing online games. Over the past few decades, the gaming industry has emerged and grown into a multi-billion-dollar industry. Features such as vibrant graphics and multiplayer mode make the game more fun. Many popular games are violent in nature, which can mislead children’s brains. Spending long periods of time playing games and not interacting with the real world can cause social anxiety and depression.

Cyberspace

As technology advances, we often use digital IDs to store our data and important documents, which has made our lives much easier. We use our social media accounts to connect with people or grow our business. However, the security of our personal information is under serious threat from hackers. Cybersecurity is important to all of us today. Cybercrime is increasing every day. Many countries have spent billions of dollars on cybersecurity. That shows the importance of cyberspace in the present times.
