One Petal At A Time
Deep seated soul
Inside the depths of the flower
Yet to bloom
Huddled up into a ball
One petal at a time
Enshrouding
Into a closed bud

But the seasons change
Monsoons wash away the dust
Winters make you struggle
Until the spring
Brings
A new light
A new breeze
A new hope
That seemed fainter than a twinkle
Quicker to disappear than in a blink
But with
One petal at a time
She breathed new life
Slowly unfolding
Maturing
Pink to red
Blue to violet
Green to amber
And one petal at a time
She stepped
Up out of the shell
Cold heart
A Dangerous shard
Jeopardizing
All of the Summer toil
Hollow winds howl
Inside a shallow soul
You burn out
But the Lord enshrouds you with love
One petal at a time

And the seasons change
Monsoons cry out your pain
Winters teach you reality
Harsh lessons continue
Until the Spring
Brings
A new vision
A new mission
A new aspiration
That seemed bleak and out of sight
Sunken deep and lost in respite
But with
One petal at a time
She breathed new life
Slowly unfolding
Maturing
Pink to red
Blue to violet
Green to amber
And one petal at a time
She stepped
Up out of the shell
One petal at a time
Unraveling brand new facets of life
Learning one step at a time
Pursuing tenacity of her mind
Strengthening every sinew in her bosom
One petal at a time
She grew stronger

Butterflies don iridescent wings
Grey clouds give birth to Rainbows
And
Dead leaves return to their rightful place
As the seasons change
And so with
One petal at a time
She breathed new life
Slowly unfolding
Maturing
Pink to red
Blue to violet
Green to amber
And one petal at a time
She stepped
Up out of the shell
One petal at a time….
