Who doesn’t like to travel and explore?
This case study is built for travel and travelers where I tried to solve the problems faced in a travel application.
Overview
This web application will help to make your travel easier by planning your entire trip .
Creating your own itinerary including flights, stay, transfer and activities to be explored. Also, after reaching your destination nearby activities and restaurants can be explored.
For any medical emergency , trusted doctors are verified and recommended by detecting the user’s location.
Problem Statement
Travellers who urge to plan and create their own itinerary.
Also, others who wants their entire trip planned and organised completely. Assistance after reaching their destination is also expected by users.
Travellers by profession find it difficult to earn for their travel in their earlier stages.
Research & Validation
Conducted an online research with my friends and colleagues who travel frequently and passionate about travelling.
Also I approached some of the travel vloggers in instagram and youtubers who take up travel as profession and came up with the below challenges faced by them.
- Part of them wanted to create their own itinerary for their travel
- The other set of them wanted everything planned in their travel which includes transfer and other assistance after reaching their destination.
Travel vloggers find it difficult to earn for their travel as they take up travel as their profession.
Here are some of the research details which I collected from travel YouTubers and vloggers in Instagram on how they earn for their travel.
-From the research findings , I came up with 2 features -Paid Promotion and Brand Sponsorship which would solve their problem.

From research and user stories I came up with an application with all the features that would solve the problems in travel.
Pre-requisites of a travel
Itinerary- One of the major problem for the users is a fixed itinerary in many of the applications, no modification can be done according to the user’s choice.
Itinerary can also be built based on previous customer feedbacks and reviews.
Customisable itinerary is provided in this application where flights, stay and activities can be built and customised by the users.
Flights- Users can check for the best flight and offers in the application itself as recommended flights will be listed at the best price.
Stay- The best hotels will be recommended for the users with reviews from the previous customers. Users can also select hotels from their choice and customise to their requirement.
Visa- Visa process is made easy by providing the complete steps and information required for your travel based on the country your visiting.
The required forms ,airline information and hotel booking details have to be submitted for the visa to be approved.
Transfer- After reaching your destination airport transfer will be provided from the airport and for all the activities throughout the entire trip
Activities- According to your interests ,time of visit and transfer type activities can be selected. Smart filter can also be applied to get best and recommended activities from the application.
Requisites during the travel
24/7 support -Right from planning the trip till return support is available in chat and call for any assistance required for the entire trip.
Restaurants- Rather than experimenting unknown restaurants online, recommended and best rated restaurants are listed in the application. By detecting the user’s location recommended restaurants will be listed.
Medical emergency- During travel if any medical assistance is required , the user’s wont have to panic as recommended doctors and hospitals are listed by detecting current location . Online consultation is available through video calling.
Premium Subscription & Paid Promotions
Premium membership
Users can subscribe to premium membership by paying monthly/annually . By subscribing as a premium member , users get exclusive offers for their travel and planning from travel experts.
Premium membership plays an important role for travelers and other users who are passionate about travel. It is an one-time pay from user’s pockets and get regular offers and updates for their travel.
Paid Promotions
Struggling and upcoming Professional travelers find it difficult to approach for companies and brands to get paid promotions for their travel.
So this feature being in the travel application itself gives an add-on to them where their travel is made easier and also earning for their travel.
Premium members who are active social media influencers and travelers can do paid promotions easily after validation from the application.
This makes them earn and promote themselves more. They can also help their followers to get more offers for their travel by sharing links and promotion codes.
Brand Sponsorship
Partnered brand sponsorship can also help to promote the brand and travelers can earn through brand endorsements.
Every travel application have their brand partners associated with them. Professional travelers who become paid promoters can also be associated with brand endorsements.
