As the first ever jailbreaking tool to iOS 10, this new tool from Luca came as a beta. When the time it was introduced, the tool only addresses 64-bit devices in iOS 10.0.x-iOS 10.1.1. And as expected the tool was based on Google’s project zero exploits published few times back by Ian Beer. But as they are already been patched in 10.2 with security changes, Luca did not plan YaluX the second major firmware came above 10. But then, what made it work for 10.2?
iOS 10.2 Jailbreak is Coming
Todesco was one of the first to identify iOS 10.2 is built with a different level of security. In fact, 10.2 firmware was dropped patched with many exploitable bugs that can lead for jailbreak including project zero exploits based to YaluX beta tool. But with Luca’s constant effort, something has made a change in YaluX putting it is the side of 10.2. In fact, Luca has found YaluX to work on iOS 10.2 jailbreak in the time of the tool developing. But it will only work for non-iPhone 7/7 Plus devices in 64-bit range. Even this was not explained why, we could assume it is due a hardware security setting in latest iPhone 7.
Should you try Yalux?
Even YaluX find the first ever jailbreak to iOS 10, we not encourage you to tool use at this moment. In fact, Todesco confirms his tool is still a beta and under active development. And only having said YaluX work for iOS 10.2 jailbreak, we could not expect it to work for a complete jailbreak. So stay away from the beta tool until Luca himself confirms it is safe for all use.
Important: Apple released 10.2.1 through beta making us soon receive the final build. But do not upgrade 10.2.1 until you are revealed jailbreak possibilities. In fact, it could trap with no Cydia as YaluX upcoming process confirms no support above 10.2
