Dawn of Heroes: Origin — Lead your Valannia race to victory and beyond
The Dawn of Heroes is upon us! Soon, you will be able to mint special one-time heroes from all eight main Valannia races. These Heroes are going to be used in the upcoming Valannia Arena game and beyond. Each race has its lore, Hero rarity, and gameplay strategies. Let’s dive into the lore of these races and the special combat abilities they possess.
Origin
Altari stands as one of the original and indigenous races of Valannia. Descendants of certain nocturnal bird species, their anthropomorphism is believed to be a product of Valannia’s characteristic evolutionary acceleration, triggered by the singularity known as the Great Unleashing. Altari swiftly emerges as a resilient race, resourceful and marked by a strong sense of honor. Intelligent, wise, and tenacious, Altari thrived in the cold and inhospitable lands of northwestern Valannia, a mountainous territory popularly known as “The Skylands.”
Home
The Skylands, a cold and rugged territory, is not for the faint-hearted. With towering peaks and a harsh, windy climate, its valleys, however, are not devoid of a comforting beauty. Altari delights in constructing their citadels and fortifications in elevated territories, often connecting various peaks through bridge systems, zip lines, or avian transportation. This elevated position of their main cities grants them significant protection against unwelcome invaders. Many small towns and races have nestled their cities at the foot of the mountains in the Skylands seeking Altari’s protection, greatly fostering trade in the area. The Skylands may seem like a daunting and empty landscape at first glance, but rest assured, Altari archers have been watching you from the peaks since you set foot in these lands.
Basic Lore
Altari is a matriarchal society that venerates its Queen, where males primarily occupy the military and expeditionary arm. In Altari society, houses or clans hold considerable weight, sometimes burdened by complex internal disputes and power struggles. Traditionally, a clan occupies the Olivanti, the administrative regency of the kingdom, determined by consensus voting by the queen and her council every two Valannian cycles. The Altari Queen is the true gravitational center of Altari society, as, like bees, the entire swarm coordinates for her protection and that of the kingdom, until the last breath and the last consequence.
Motivations
The Altari, driven by a sense of duty and loyalty to their Queen and homeland, strive to uphold their traditions while adapting to the evolving threats around them. In past wars, Altari gained victories but also suffered more than painful losses. This has gradually led them to a more conservative outlook on conquest, where they content themselves with maintaining The Skylands. As great explorers and natural survivors accustomed to the harsh weather conditions, Altari does yearn for resources and power, and while they may appear reserved in their ambitions, the Altari are always vigilant, prepared to defend The Skylands and expand their influence when necessary, ensuring the survival and prosperity of their race in the ever-changing landscape of Valannia. Altari armies are always ready… For The Queen!
- Exploration:
Altari excel in exploration, their keen intellect and natural affinity for navigating rugged terrains making them unparalleled scouts and pathfinders. Their familiarity with The Skylands and its treacherous landscapes allows them to traverse even the most challenging environments with ease. Whether scaling towering peaks or traversing winding valleys, Altari scouts lead the way with confidence and precision, uncovering hidden paths and strategic vantage points essential for the defense of their realm. - Survival:
is ingrained in the essence of Altari culture. Adapted to endure the harshest of conditions, they thrive where others falter. Their resilience in the face of adversity is legendary, honed through generations of hardship in the unforgiving wilderness of The Skylands. Altari possess an innate understanding of their surroundings, capable of foraging for resources, constructing shelters, and braving extreme weather conditions with unmatched skill and determination. - Archery:
Renowned for their mastery of the bow, Altari archers are feared throughout Valannia. From the moment they are old enough to wield a bow, Altari are trained rigorously in the art of archery, honing their accuracy and agility to lethal perfection. Their proficiency in archery is not limited to stationary targets; Altari archers are equally adept at firing from moving platforms, such as the bridges and zip lines that connect their mountain citadels. With unmatched precision and speed, they rain down arrows upon their enemies with deadly efficiency, defending their homeland with unwavering resolve.
Origin
The Glorb stand tall among the four primeval races of Valannia, a fierce byproduct of the Great Unleashing. But according to them, they owe their existence (and their name) to the creator god of the Glorb and Valannia itself; the one, the only, the all-powerful “Glorb”. Crafted in the likeness of their god and leader, the Glorb are strong, courageous, and resolute. Since the dawn of time, they have thirsted for war and revered death in battle as the most glorious of ends. Their superiority in strength and size has propelled them forward in the challenging world of Valannia, though at times their frenzied and chaotic nature may make their methods a tad… well, Glorb-esque. Feared, and with good reason, the Glorb dwell in the venomous, smoldering lands of southern Valannia, the ever-dangerous Glorb Lands, where these hordes of blue-skinned warriors prepare for battle amidst brawls, infernal music, and the finest Glorbeer!
Home
The Glorb Lands, as the name suggests, are the dark southern territories ruled by the Glorb. This forbidding and eerie land is characterized by dense humidity and a terrifying landscape of twisted trees and bubbling swamps. Few dare to venture into these lands, and even fewer emerge unscathed. The Glorb are fiercely territorial, defending their domains with fangs and claws.
Basic Lore
The Glorb are an ancient race, one of the oldest in Valannia. According to Glorb legend, everything was created by the Great Glorb, who fashioned the Glorb in his own image. That means Strength, Valor, and… Destruction! Thanks to their audacity and immense brute force, the Glorb have thrived in Valannia with surprising prowess. For the Glorb, war is the holiest of acts, as the Almighty Glorb urges his kin to conquer Valannia, a land they believe is rightfully theirs by divine decree. Glory to Glorb!
Motivations
The Glorb’s motivation is to conquer all of Valannia, a land they believe is rightfully theirs, or perish in the honorable and sacred act of combat in their attempt. The Glorb’s vision is chaotic and filled with fury, a nature that finds its purpose in war like nowhere else. While the Glorb also have other sacred interests (destruction, brawls, infernal music, sex, drinking until oblivion, burning things), war is the natural habitat of the happy Glorb!
- Leatherworking
As expert hunters, the Glorb have developed magnificent skills in handling leather, hides, and other animal-derived materials. Leather armors, saddles, and even timpani drums reach excellence in the hands of Glorb artisans! - Hunting
The Glorb are not mere hunters; they have turned tracking and hunting into a true art form! With their keen sense of smell, toughness, knowledge of the environment, and ancestral tracking techniques, Glorbs hunt with sinister effectiveness, whether it’s prey for dinner or enemies! Watch your step! - Brutality
In combat, as well as in most aspects of their lives, the Glorb flaunt their incredible strength and brutality. This has been the key to Glorb’s glory since ancient times… Strength to conquer and crush their adversaries!

Meet the Tyxen, one of the original four races calling the mystical lands of Valannia home. Following a transformative event known as the Great Unleashing, these little furballs evolved from humble mammalian beginnings into a force to be reckoned with. Despite their small stature, early Tyxens faced the world’s dangers with cunning and resilience. Their knack for technology, coupled with unmatched bravery, intelligence, and agility, propelled them from survival to dominance. Nestled in their impregnable Tyxen Burrow, they prove that size isn’t everything — what they lack in height, they more than make up for with brains and heart.
Home
The Tyxen thrive in the steamy, jungle-rich southwest lands, spread across four kingdoms known collectively as the Tyxen Burrow. Defended fiercely by Tyxen tech, these realms boast lush vegetation and soaring temperatures — perfect for the flourishing Tyxen empire. New Tyxenburr, their capital, once fell in a great war but has since been reborn, a testament to our furry friends’ determination never to let history repeat itself.
Basic Lore
From their earliest days, the Tyxen battled foes far larger and mightier. Perhaps it’s this underdog spirit that honed their other remarkable skills. Known for their brilliant minds, they’ve turned intellectual prowess into technological marvels and fearsome war machines. On the battlefield, they’re fierce; off it, they’re fun-loving creatures with a wicked sense of humor. Peaceful to friends but fierce to foes, the Tyxen are always ready to protect their own.
Motivations
Now at the zenith of their civilization, Tyxen technology is advancing at a breathtaking pace, sparking concern among some about its rapid progression. Rumors swirl that they’ve pilfered tech from humans to accelerate their already impressive advancements. The Tyxens, of course, plead ignorance. Unfazed and fearless, they’re on a mission to claim their rightful place and crush their enemies. Beware the Tyxen Burrow — surrender to their mastery of metal and fire!
- Engineering
The Tyxen are celebrated for their groundbreaking technological inventions and a natural flair for engineering. Some of Valannia’s most famed magical gadgets, like the legendary Tyxen Machine, originated from these ingenious creatures. With their tech, they craft an array of items for crafting and warfare, proving that great things indeed come in small packages. - Looting
In Valannia, the Tyxen’s concept of private property is, well, unique. They may be small, but their reach is long and their knack for acquiring treasures is legendary. But ask a Tyxen, and they’ll tell you it’s not stealing — things just have a way of moving around, often into their pockets. - Evasion
Being small has its perks. The Tyxen’s size and agility make them masters of dodging attacks and confounding enemies. This skill set turns them into slippery opponents, hard to catch and even harder to defeat on the battlefield.
Origin
Lerathi stands as the ultimate among Valannia’s four primary races. A reptilian breed with diverse branches stemming from what’s known as the Lerathi tree, a conglomerate of various reptilian races. Legends among the Lerathi speak of a curse cast upon them by the sun, though its veracity remains elusive. What’s undeniable is their vulnerability to sunlight despite their need for its warmth. As a counterbalance, Lerathi venerates Kron: the Moon, darkness incarnate. Fittingly, they thrive in the volcanic, sun-scorched lands of the east, veiled in perpetual steam and ash, known as The Cauldron.
Home
The Cauldron, a realm of dark, rugged terrain, proudly serves as Lerathi’s sanctuary. Here, the earth boils naturally from the intense magma activity beneath, coupled with abundant thermal springs — a habitat that delights our reptilian friends while chilling the bones of any outsider. It’s no haven; Lerathi fiercely guard it, and beyond its borders, dark magic and fervent Kron-aligned creatures await, eager to rend intruders limb from limb.
Basic Lore
Lerathi venerates Kron, the Light Devourer or Sun Devourer. They zealously follow sacred scriptures, including their renowned prophecy foreseeing the sun’s demise and Lerathi’s subsequent reign. A highly hierarchical society, Lerathi revere the Great Serpent atop all. Ascending to this position is perilous; the trials are so lethal that survival odds are one in ten, validating the chosen one as Kron’s own.
Motivations
In Lerathi society, all serve their superiors, prioritizing collective advancement over individual fulfillment. Their goal: to establish Lerathi domination as ordained by prophecy and Kron’s will. With fervor, Lerathi deploy their formidable forces across Valannia, seeking to impose their reign of darkness. Embrace Darkness…
- Alchemy
Nestled within The Cauldron’s dark lands, Lerathi’s dungeons and underground laboratories are renowned across Valannia for their power and mystique. Mastering alchemical substances and magic, Lerathi crafts potent potions, brews, and poisons of every kind. - Mining
With cunning and tenacity, Lerathi harnesses their intelligence to develop superior techniques for subterranean exploitation, mining valuable magical materials to fuel their sinister designs. - Stealth
Sly and stealthy, Lerathi possesses reptilian abilities, moving silently and lethally, slipping past enemies until it’s too late to react.
Origin
The Pirith are mystical entities in the form of energy capable of controlling matter, and their origins are shrouded in an aura of mystery and forgetfulness. While all records date from times after the Great Unleashing, some sources claim that the Pirith do not hail from this world. There’s much debate and speculation surrounding this mystery, although Kurangi himself asserts that they likely aren’t native to Valannia. Centuries ago, the Pirith settled in the forests of Arvaxia, becoming deeply intertwined with the forest and forming a profound connection with the natural world. To this day, the depth and limits of this symbiosis remain unknown.
Home
The Pirith made their home in the expansive, lush forests of Arvaxia, in the North of Valannia. This land, cold and inhospitable, makes no friends and is harsh to the poor creatures that tread upon it. The forests of Arvaxia are renowned for their mysterious aura and the countless legends that surround them. Children are warned never to venture into them, and even the bravest knights grimace with unease upon setting foot within their borders. Books and bardic songs speak of the terrifying creatures they contain, but few do justice to the chilling truth…
Basic Lore
The Pirith, at least the original ones known as Morgwyn, are beings in the form of concentrated energy, their true selves appearing as small energy spheres to the eyes of mere mortals. However, it’s important to note that Pirith is a term under which all inhabitants of Arvaxia faithful to the Morgwyn are grouped, encompassing various types of creatures. The originals, the Morgwyn, are deeply mystical beings with a great sense of beauty and aesthetics. These creatures possess great virtues; they can control matter and create life, they are highly intelligent, and their unique physical form makes them practically indestructible except through powerful magic; at most, you’ll only destroy their temporary avatar. The Pirith use their control of matter to manifest as eerie yet beautiful avatars, often utilizing the biomass of the forest, such as branches, roots, leaves, or fragments of rock. Their fascination with beauty led them to create fairies and satyrs, creations that would later rebel against them, sparking the famous wars of Arvaxia.
Motivations
Deeply connected with the natural world, the Pirith seek above all to defend and preserve the forests of Arvaxia. However, the Pirith are patient and cunning, and among their deepest desires is the expansion of the Arvaxian forest throughout Valannia. The Pirith are not lacking in a certain arrogance and often look down upon forms of life they consider “less evolved,” believing deep down that the world would be better managed by them…
- Herbalism
Due to their connection with the natural world, the Pirith hold a profound knowledge of plants and their properties. They can communicate with flora, thus knowing all the secrets of harvesting and using plants for various disciplines. - Enchantment
Possessing some of the most powerful magic in Valannia, the Pirith are knowledgeable in strange methods of enchanting objects through magical seals, granting them unique abilities and qualities. - Necromancy
The Pirith possess a unique understanding of magic that defies the logic of most mortals, as they can command other creatures through Necromancy. This discipline allows them to control both aberrations created by themselves and creatures that have crossed the threshold of death… The path to eternity awaits…
Origin
Legend speaks of the ancient origins of the Feyrune, tracing their lineage back to the forests of Arvaxia. Born from the mystical energies of Pirith, these beings emerged eons ago, embodying the essence of the enchanted woodlands.
Following the Wars of Arvaxia, where the Fairies and Satyrs rebelled against their masters, the Feyrune found themselves displaced. Fleeing from their ancestral home, they sought sanctuary in the moors of Lumindor — determined to preserve their culture and way of life against the Shadows, a disparaging term the Feyrune use when referring to the Pirith.
Home
Lumindor’s forests serve as the heart of Feyrune, a sanctuary of unparalleled beauty and mystique. These enchanted woodlands, meticulously nurtured by colossal Forest Sprouters and other kindred spirits, captivate the senses and ensnare the unwary with their bewitching allure.
Within the depths of Lumindor lie the Fey Realms, realms of magic and wonder where the Fairies wield absolute dominion. These realms are bastions of light and harmony in a world fraught with darkness and strife.
Basic Lore
In the remote corners of Valannia, nestled within the mystical forests of Lumindor, thrives a vibrant society known as Feyrune. Composed primarily of the ethereal Fairies and the captivating Satyrs, along with other forest denizens, Feyrune embodies a harmonious communion with nature.
Motivations
Central to Feyrune’s ethos is the preservation of harmony within the natural world. Through their tireless efforts, they nurture the forests of Lumindor, ensuring its beauty and vitality endure for generations.
Bound by a deep sense of loyalty and sacrifice, the denizens of Feyrune stand united in their mission to protect their realm from the encroaching darkness. COME TO THE LIGHT, as their motto goes, is a reminder of this duty.
- Jewelry:
Feyrune’s Fairies are renowned for their exquisite jewelry crafting. They use rare gemstones and precious metals infused with mystical properties to create enchanting pieces that enhance the wearer’s abilities. - Tailoring:
Satyrs of Feyrune excel in tailoring, weaving garments of elegance and practicality that reflect the enchanting essence of their realm. - Sword Mastery:
Feyrune’s warriors are masters of the blade, wielding enchanted swords with precision. Their lightning-fast strikes and agile footwork make them formidable adversaries on the battlefield.
Origin
Meet Zan’Thar, one of the few races not originating in Valannia. Millennia ago, the mystical Zan’Thar arrived in Northeast Valannia from the far reaches of outer space. What originally was a brief expedition, Zan’Thar chose to stay in Valannia after wisely listening to Kurangi’s warnings of impending doom to those who tried to leave the planet. They settled in Valannia and have lived in peace and prosperity for centuries.
Home
The Zan’Thar settled in Northeastern Valannia and lived there under the protection of an energy shield that most call “the dome” in their native languages. Under this dome, the Zan’Thar built a garden-like haven complemented by beautiful stone fountains and pathways. They also cultivated a rich culture of the arts and seekers of knowledge. Stories of Zan’Thar’s past could be heard while strolling through this paradise.
Basic Lore
The Zan’Thar are most widely recognized for their height, purple skin, and bald heads, but there is so much more than meets the eye. They are a gifted race with telekinetic power, healing abilities, and a preference for peace. Despite their desire to avoid conflict, they possess formidable combat prowess, making them deadly when threatened — although situations rarely come to that. A Zan’Thar’s true power is their reason, negotiation skills and empathy.
Motivations
“Peace Among The Stars,” the Zan’Thar greeting goes. Zan’Thar is driven by a commitment to peace and wisdom. They seek to maintain the fragile balance of their existence amidst the turmoil of Valannia. While they may not desire war, they are prepared to defend their home and way of life against any who would threaten it.
- Diplomacy:
The Zan’thar are adept diplomats, skilled in negotiation and mediation. Their keen intellect and empathetic nature enable them to gracefully navigate complex political landscapes, fostering harmony between disparate factions in Valannia. - Healing:
Drawing upon their deep understanding of the mind and body, the Zan’thar possess remarkable healing abilities. Through a combination of vibration and energy transmission, they can accelerate the healing process, mending wounds and restoring vitality to the injured with unparalleled precision. - Mentalism:
Zan’Thar are masters of telekineses and telepathy, and this does not take into account the enhancement of these skills by the inherit magic of Valannia. Zan’Thar can move powerful objects with their mind and communicate with each other in battle. Some among the Zan’thar are rumored to possess the ability to exert mental control over their enemies, influencing their thoughts and actions to turn the tide of battle.
Origin
Humans were the last to arrive in Valannia. As Kurangi often puts it, “It’s like Valannia turned into a galactic spider web.” Unlike the Zan’Thar, humans didn’t arrive in a peaceful oasis after a serene space journey; they fled from other conflicts, chaos, and civil war plaguing their crew. After this turbulent arrival, the victorious faction awakened General Percival McAllister from his forced hibernation, accused of dementia, erratic behavior, and war crimes. With McAllister in command, scarce food and resources, and no energy sources to sustain their technology, humans were dragged into a more barbaric era, culminating in the fanatical medieval frenzy we now know as Dominium Mundi.
Home
Dominium Mundi is where humans landed, a rugged, damp area where they barricaded themselves to survive Valannia’s hostile climate. The name, Dominium Mundi, like all names given to human babies born in Valannia, was coined by McAllister himself, symbolizing the point from which humans will conquer Valannia (in his own words). This coastal territory is harsh and rainy, a gray land slowly eroding the soul. Yet, humans have managed to survive in it, showcasing considerable adaptability.
Basic Lore
Humans are a race inclined towards conflict. They can fiercely fight amongst themselves and even fiercer against beings of other races. However, they are also capable of acts worthy of admiration, and their resilience and refusal to surrender are legendary in Valannia already. Under the rule of the eccentric General McAllister, who governs Dominium with an iron fist, humans have been forcibly toughened, reverting to the times of edged weapons. Moreover, they have shown an ability to harness the magic of Valannia…
Motivations
General McAllister once said, “We’re not going anywhere.” He even disabled the mothership in a ceremony. Under his command, humans have accepted that they are staying in Valannia. Now that they have stabilized after centuries of adaptability, the true intentions of humans, or at least their leaders, seem to follow the human trend throughout the delicate threads of time: to conquer Valannia and impose human dominion, no matter the cost. Until the stars themselves yield
- Blacksmithing:
In Valannia, humans have traded blasters for swords and axes, dusting off their ancient forge skills. Not only that, they’ve displayed a natural aptitude for metalworking, and their blacksmiths are held in high esteem. - Hustler:
Humans are born hustlers, deftly navigating the art of deception through tricks and mental manipulation. This makes them formidable adversaries in games of chance and other schemes that rely on persuasion. - Strategy:
With warfare etched into their history, humans excel like no other in battlefield strategy, crafting cunning and precise plans to subdue the enemy. They meticulously study the strengths and weaknesses of their foes, leaving no stone unturned.
In the diverse world of Valannia, players are presented with a myriad of races, each possessing unique lore, cultures, and gameplay styles. Choosing a race isn’t just a cosmetic decision; it directly influences gameplay, offering specialized abilities and playstyles. Whether you prefer stealth and agility, brute strength, magical prowess, or cunning deception, selecting the right race can significantly impact your experience in Valannia, shaping your journey and defining your role in the ever-evolving landscape of conflict and conquest.
To Victory!
