Valannia: A Universe of Games

Welcome Valannians! We have been seeing a lot of questions about Heroes and our upcoming game loops and decided it was time to jump into some of the details! As we have said, one hero is all you need to experience the Valannia universe. But let’s see how using a hero will differ across our upcoming releases.

Valannia Arena

Arena is a competitive team game where you control a hero from one of eight races and select combat units of the same race as your hero. Combat units come with a point value; you can have up to 50 combat unit points in a match. Players can choose different races, heroes, and combat units in each match. Arena is a best-of-three-rounds combat game, where players can change their combat units’ abilities between rounds, and it is played in a “last man standing” format.

Arena will be a Free-to-Play (F2P) and wallet-less game, meaning you can start for free with non-NFT heroes and combat units. You can gradually unlock units and heroes to play, but they will never become NFTs.

In Arena, there are two leaderboards: one for F2P players and another for NFT players. F2P rewards will be modest and include NFTs, skins, and other items. The NFT leaderboard will offer rewards in the form of NFTs, skins, and tokens/cash at the end of each season. After each season, there is a competitive circuit with rewards for the top-ranked teams. 80% of the teams will come from the NFT side and 20% from the F2P leaderboard.

In conclusion, Arena significantly rewards NFT players more, although the best F2P players still have some chances of earning good rewards.

Valannia Realms

Valannia Realms is our browser-based open world. In the first version, Valannia Realms: Crafting, players will be able to level up their hero, progress in a profession, engage in crafting, explore, join guilds, participate in guild competitions, and get involved in Valannia politics.

In the second version, Valannia Realms: Conquest, players will be able to discover new territories, learn new professions, unlock new crafting trees, engage in open-world construction, claim territories, build castles for their heroes, develop technologies, and establish citadels (guild castles). There will also be PvP and much more. In Realms, players can extract crystal essences that can be transformed into Valannia tokens, which hold fundamental value in the game’s politics.

Additionally, the economy of Realms emulates a real-world economy, where every action costs time, making the value of items associated with the cost and time of production. We have designed an economy where time itself can be considered a currency, with the foundation based on the extraction of raw materials. Hence, Realms cannot be compared to any traditional game. Realms has a real, open economy where each participant can buy and sell the assets they produce. It is a system designed to truly reward players for actively engaging in the universe.

Realms players can provide combat units to Arena players, as the combat units sold by the Valannia team will be limited. Additionally, Realms will host real businesses, with web2 and web3 companies offering their services in the lands within the capitals. However, players will also have the opportunity to create their businesses within the city by owning a land plot. This gameplay is different, more oriented towards business and social interaction. Of course, they can also acquire pre-established businesses, such as blacksmith shops, mobile stalls, or taverns. In Realms, the city blacksmiths will not be NPCs but players, who will earn a fee from interactions in these establishments.

It is important to distinguish between having a castle and a land plot. Castles can be built by players in the yellow and red zones. On the other hand, plots/lands are fixed locations within the capitals, are not in any danger, and have various benefits in Realms, which we will elaborate on later. The capitals, including Eldorath, are green zones, where there is no PvP.

A crucial aspect of the economy within Valannia Arena and Valannia Realms is that both games will have a scholarship option, taking the game to new horizons and giving new players the opportunity for greater adoption.

POWER MATRIX

Our team has designed the “Power Matrix,” a balancing algorithm similar to “rock, paper, scissors,” which considers the type of unit you have and the unit it damages. The six types of units are Infantry, Ranged, Mage, Tank, Cavalry, and Colossus.

For example, Ranged units have a damage bonus against Infantry and Mages. A picture is worth a thousand words:

The Power Matrix doesn’t stop there; the algorithm also takes into account the power of combat units by race, ensuring no race is stronger than another. For example, if the Altari race has extraordinary archers, we have ensured that it doesn’t have powerful units that counter the archers.

We hope this overview of Arena and Realms was helpful and cleared up any questions you may have had. As always, feel free to reach out with any more questions or comments you may have! We hope you enjoy your time in Arena and Realms. Thanks for being part of the Valannia universe!
