Japanese designer Kenji Ekuan created many interesting projects for famous brands for 60 years of his work. He is a creator of the high-speed train Akita, Yamaha motorcycles and the soy sauce bottle. Kenji Ekuan has been inventing the Kikkoman bottle for three years. During this time he have tried more than 100 prototypes. He stopped at a 150ml flusk with special dispencer cap that worked as a spout.

This construction allows to pour sauce to within a drop wherein the liquid doesn’t drip and it doesn’t cover a hole by drying up.

An exquisite bottle is made of solid glass.

Unlike other food packagings, people can — and want! — use it multiple times.

Ekuan dreamed to return a good name to his coutry after the World War Two. That is why the bootle had to turn out not only beautiful and convenient but also modern and national-traditional.

Ekuan said about the famous bottle this: ‘Personally for me this bottle embodies the true Japan, not the new one. Today the soy sauce Kikkoman in the famed bottle is an another Japanese symbol.

The designer was inspired by his childhood memories to create a boxing for Kikkoman, he said. He recalled how his mother poured a soy sauce from a big bottle to a small sauceboat for serving on the table.
