I can completely see where Medium would like to go and how they could be a category crusher just like Netflix. The more time I spend on Medium the more excited I am about the possibilities and potential. I don’t have any reference point for how it was since I only know it as it is (at least since March, anyway).
My major issue is that I wish that it was curated more to keep out cheesy spam that is just selling stuff — I’m kind of flabbergasted that plain old vanilla spam filters don’t do that. Because you have to wade through that stuff to find the content you want, it makes Medium appear like a flea market, you have to pass the table selling tube socks before you get to the craftspeople you have really come for.
