Tags are the best tool I have found as a Reader in order to navigate Medium the way I prefer to. If you read a lot, as I do, then tags are just about the only way to read only the freshest content when you have already perused all of the featured, promoted and popular stuff.

I bookmark the tags that I like — that gives me the ability to see the Latest content in real time. I’m sure most people know this, but I bet many don’t, especially newerbees like myself.

Also, I check out the tags on stories I like to find other ponds to fish in for similar content. It’s fun to find some secret pool stocked with all the stuff you like.
