A poem about Slaughterhouse Five because I don’t want to write an essay for an English class
Anna Sharudenko

Your title made me laugh because it reminded me of the time I had procrastinated my window of opportunity away to write even a marginally acceptable essay about The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, so I turned in a poem instead — a long stream of consciousness purportedly written by the protagonist John Singer. My teacher scribbled “unconventional but insightful” when she probably should have written “WTF?! Essay by tomorrow or a zero for the section.”
