The Sun and the Moon are lovers. That is a fact not many people know.

Due to the laws of nature, they had to be forbidden lovers, destined to never be together at the same time.

One sets as the other rises.

“I admire the Moon’s beauty,” thinks the Sun.

“I admire the Sun’s warmth,” thinks the Moon.

“I admire your elegance.”

“I admire your charm.”

The Sun was a god of sorts. It’s light was so powerful it actually brought herbs to life and grew goods from the ground. Everyone, every day, came out to worship the Sun.

The Moon is seen as darkness. One that brings a cold, calming presence to every place that she touches. People marvel at her beauty as it rises.

But the Sun had a secret: it was in love with the Moon. The Sun recognized the Moon’s secrecy and fell for the way the Moon was timid with itself. The Moon was graceful and radiant and as much as the Sun loved looking over Earth, it often longed for night to fall just so people could marvel at the Moon’s beauty.

The Moon had a secret of its own, too: The Moon had fallen in love with the Sun since the day they first saw each other.
