Kashmir ! Beautiful Kashmir
I was !
In a train, Brushing my teeth, my eyes groggy from the last nights journey, when I heard this song;
“Kaaashmir, Bootiful Kaashmir, Kaashmir, Onderful Kaashmir”
Surprised ? Eh !
So was I, Dear Contest Masters, Fellow Toastmasters and Friends, when I found out where sound was coming from.
It was coming from the leftmost closed cubicle, where the singer was probably sitting like this (perform a indian style)
Hearing such a beautiful song, at such a beautiful place, all my sleep left me. And All i did was to wait for the singer to come out !
And then when a small kid, probably 8, came out of the cubicle, he apparently did not like a full grown adult, And before he could make a run for it, I grabbed his wrists and questioned him !
About his choice of song.
It turns out, Kashmir, Beautiful Kashmir was a codeword adopted by his parents, so that troublesome conflict could be avoided in public.
Whenever he had a deep urge to go, All he had to say infront of his parents was, Mom, Dad, I wanna goto Kashmir, Take me to Kashmir. This would make his father proud, as he could now brag, “How romantic his son was.”
For the stranger I met, Singing a song, while going, was a way of encouraging his body and soul for a eventful day ahead.
And this is what research says, People who goto kashmir daily, are less grumpy and more active compared to others.
Kashmir, is the place, where you are free of all your troubles. And you are truly free. Have you ever thought of work, family, girlfriend, friend when you were in kashmir.
No ! We never do that, Instead, Kashmir is the place where humanity has seen its best ideas develop.
Great Bollwood Composer Shantanu Moitra and CEO of Cocacola have agreed in public that their best ideas have come when they were in kashmir :)
Kashmir ! Is the only place in world where nobody will come to disturb you, unless they want to visit too and are stuck up at the Jawahar Tunell :)
But I am not here to raise awareness about kashmir, I am here to raise awareness about a general panic which has set our nation, or for that case the entire humanities.
What was the last time, you checked your TV, and saw Peace In Kashmir !
Never ?
Due to lots of our screwed up eating policies, unrealistic diet and neglect, snowfall and floods are becoming more common in Kashmir.
And these days, Having Peace in Kashmir is a bigger challenge than shouting over Arnab Goswami.
Kashmir used to be the pinncacle of Humanity during Shahajahan’s time, His court writer, Najmuddin Shah Mubrak wrote a poem called Dar Mauaz-e-Araish- e-Mashuq, where he talks about importance of peace in Kashmir and techniques to bring peace.
But sadly today, the only place in our house where we can visit kashmir, has been sacrificed for more space for bedroom and living room.
Have you ever contemplated meaning of life sitting in the living room ?
Why ?
Because, We do not encourage our kashmir.It is the integral part of our body as well as the country.
Afterall it is part of our soul !
Kashmir is a place where every Indian goes, but never acknowledges.
What was the last time, you did anything to bring peace to Kashmir ?
The boy I met, was supporting kashmir, encouraging kashmir, so that his day could be beautiful !
I beg you all to do so, Stand by kashmir,
Eat healthy, drink fluids, ensure that kashmir is peaceful, and see how good you and your country are.
Because Development starts here, growth starts here, and India starts here.
