What did you do this past week?

This past was pretty chill for me. I had no Virtualization lectures this week because our professor is away for a conference. I would have liked to have gotten some progress done for the project for that class, but found myself procrastinating a bit on that. My partner and I finished the HackerRank for Darwin this weekend, which is awesome. So all we have left are the unit tests and all the other logistic stuff. And I completed my most recent assignment for Neural Networks on time. It took me longer than I wished but nevertheless, I’m glad I got that done without a hitch. Things are progressing well in my piano course as well; my teacher wants me to get a couple new books to learn pieces from which is exciting.

What’s in your way?

I finally see my surgeon after getting a discectomy around 6 weeks ago, which is a little nerve racking. We’ll hopefully discuss how I should recover moving forward, and hopefully my MRI shows promising results. If not, I’m not sure how I am going to handle this injury otherwise, so I really hope good news awaits me…

What will you do next week?

Next week, I will turn in Darwin and continue researching for my Virtualization project. I’m finally hitting a couple of technical roadblocks in piano, which is exciting but also frustrating. So I’ll be looking to work on those things during practice next week. I think that’s everything on my plate for now, but I’m bound to be forgetting something.

What was your experience of the vector implementation?

I enjoy doing the HackerRanks in class. It gives us a chance to really learn the material than having to sit through a lecture. And going over and understanding the different implementations is a warm welcome for me.

What’s your tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is to get up (or lie down) and stretch! We are sitting in chairs for hours, walking around campus with heavy backpacks, etc, so it is a good idea to find time during the day, optimally time you’re using as a break, and stretch. It’s important to be conscious about these things, like having good posture and properly stretching your legs after sitting for a long time. Your body and mind will be thanking you if you treat it right and take some time to give it a break. And hopefully you can have more longevity to do more of the things you love!
