Says Who?

Too many girls have drowned in conformity to society. When us girls feel low, the world is quick to say that we are all beautiful just they way that we are. To them, we don’t need makeup, or to let people’s opinion define us. But I think the world forgot that WE ARE SOCIETY.

We, as people, have knocked each other down to feel better about ourselves. Has anyone else noticed how much makeup products we’re supposed to use to achieve the “natural” look? How about today’s role models? The women that young girl’s are looking up to today are not the Nobel Peace Award winners or the leaders of human rights. No, our role models are the ones who use their money to feel pretty and enjoy life, the ones who don’t have to work hard for the life they live.

Society needs to realize that we have so much influence on the minds of young women and people in general. “Do this and do that, but not like that.” What are we supposed to do in a world that makes us question our every move? We, as a whole, have an obligation to teach people that they are perfect the way they are and shouldn’t try to conform. If everyone listened to what social media and celebrity advertisements said beauty was, then we would all go mad. We need people to realize that the world is only successful when we are our own person, not a clone of someone else.
