Top 5 Best VPN in 2020

I have been using a different VPN provider for the past three years. Earlier, I would only use VPN occasionally. Mostly for online banking or purchases. Before that, I would trust Virgin internet and would not use VPN for banking or any security-critical login.

I must admit I have used Costa, Starbucks, and other public wifi without VPN. It only changed when I discovered how insecure WiFi networks are. A person with some basic knowledge of hacking and a few downloaded programs can easily scan for passwords and bank login details on the network.

I did some research to find the best VPN providers and checked about 10 different VPN services. Shortlisted five best VPN, after checking their level of privacy, price, speed. I have used paid subscriptions for three VPNs, so this review includes my personal experience with these VPN services.

Lately, I have come across cheaper lifetime VPN services, I will add a section for lifetime VPN subscriptions soon.

Apart from these 5 best VPN services, I have used PrivateTunnel and CyberGhost. Both of these are excellent, private tunnel sells bandwidth like 250GB for around $25 (update: they no longer have bandwidth plans). You get unlimited time and number of devices to use this VPN. So it’s best for people on a budget or those who just want to use VPN for security-critical websites. CyberGhost offers unlimited bandwidth with standard features and prices are on the higher side.

Best VPN to watch UK, France TV

In the UK we have BBC iPlayer, Channel4 on demand and other TV channels available on the web. However, if you are outside the UK, for holidays or work, you can not access these online TV channels. They are banning IP addresses from the outside UK. Get an unlimited VPN like PIA and use their UK VPN server to get a UK IP to watch TV like you were in the UK.

French TV channels also limit their online service to the geographic locations inside France, They also ban the non-french IP address. Getting a French IP address using a VPN is the easiest workaround for this restriction.

VPN Speed and Anonymity test

Most of the VPN listed above offer a free trial and download test, signup for a free trial to experience speed yourself. Also, DNS leak tool like DNS Leak Check tests helps you find if you are exposing your real IP while on a VPN. All five VPN services mentioned pass DNS leak test.
