A political system is said to be the backbone of progress to a particular country. Their path towards growth and development depends on the efficiency of the Political System. There are many different political systems followed in different parts of the world. In this blog there is a brief description between Indian and Chinese Political Systems.

India and China are two nations with completely different perception towards the path of development and growth, India is said to be having the world’s largest democracy in terms of Parliament while China is said to be one of the countries which follows the policy of one-party dictatorship.

Type and Origin of the Political System ruled in the Country

India

India follows the democratic system and is considered to be one of the largest democratic nations in the world. India follows a policy of all adult citizens, which means the people will be ruled and represented by a person elected freely by them. There is a fair, frequent and well-managed election
system ensuring democracy. The Constitution of India was adopted in 1950. From then India turned to a federal structure. The Indian political government follows a multi-party system. In which three or more parties can take up the control either as a separate government or in coalition.

China

China follows the Totalitarian System in which there is a sense of dictatorship prevailing over the country and they assert total control over their citizens living in there. It is a centralized body of authority where individuals or different group of individuals all repressed and there is a complete lack of freedom.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been in power in China for 63 years now. Chinese party relies on three pillars: control of personnel, propaganda, and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). As the armed wing of the CCP, the PLA’s main objectives include protecting the party’s rule and defending the
party’s interests.

A Comparative Political Analysis

Both the countries — China and India have a long history with immense differences in it. China has been largely stable over a long period of time for its one-party rule while it is exactly the reverse in the Indian history. India has tried to follow the capitalist West while China has tried to rebuttal over against.

Looking at how China and India have been simultaneously so successful yet maintained their differences is indeed a fact to acknowledge.

Along with the political differences India and China have both been countries which are on top of the list of developing countries and the whole world acknowledges and watches them although these two nations initially embraced socialist economies in the middle of 20th century. Now China and India have gone separate ways. China embraces command economy employing capitalism while India moves to words a more free-market traditional system. China focuses to mostly produce their products by using its people labor-intensive techniques tangibly showing the employee capitalism.

In terms of superpower indulgence China and India both have well used their powers in the international sphere. China shows its interest in every possible aspect from territorial dispute with Japan, Philippines to sponsoring the One Belt One Road initiative across Eurasia. China has built a good rapport even after being a dictatorship country. On the other hand, India has also taken up the standard capitalistic policy and has embarked open trade counting deregulation and privatization. The former President of the USA Donald Trump admired the Indian leader and his administration thus, supported India as the Indian leaders fear an even more powerful China.

In conclusion, we can say that both India and China are politically and ideologically different nations in nature. They follow distinctive styles which best suits them. In terms of Political system both are completely different from each other.
