Hello my fellow readers, today is a very special day for me. It’s my 15th birthday! I am so excited but, also so nervous about embarking on another chapter of my life.
Being 15 can come with its perks such as in Spain you are technically an adult, Netflix gives more recommendations and more college application opportunities.
My favorite part of my birthday was the zoo trip my camp took so we can learn about exotic animal medicine, how to also do surgery on an injured animal as well as how to have a safe experience while doing surgery on an animal.
As the day progressed, I and my friends sat down to have lunch which was a slice of pizza, soda & a pack of chips. I was pretty excited to head down to the zoo exhibits. After lunch, we headed down to see the animals.
The first exhibit was the Rhino exhibit which I personally was very surprised about due to them being extinct for a long time. I was even more astonished when I was told that only black Rhinos are extinct and not grey Rhinos. Rhinos, the most rarest sight to see are hunted each year for their horns which are then sold to auctions.
The second exhibit was the Tiger exhibit. Large Cats have always been my favorite since I was a little girl but, I was so fascinated when I saw these two large cats because the Bengal and White Tigers were both 20+ years old and they looked breathtaking from the distance. They were treating each other as each others’ pillows due to the excessive humidity.
My favorite exhibit and the last and final animal we got to feed which were the deers. These deers are so rare especially the albino deer that came up to me with courage to take some corn out of my hand. They were majestic up close. The albino deer took me by surprise as deers are normally brown with white spots. I also had the honor to pet one of the many deers there.
Coming back to my birthday, I went out for dinner. Personally, I adore Mexican food. So, for dinner I ate an enchilada with salsa along with Nachos and Guacamole. Then, when arrive back at the hotel we had a small cake cutting well, not exactly cake cutting but umm cupcake cutting. I felt so happy to turn 15. There are many things I would love to tell my 14 year old self. Things like, you are more stronger than you are, don’t let other people bring you down and finally, just be yourself and their will always be happy outcomes.
