Fit in? No, stand out!

Some people never find social satisfaction. They’re either introverts, or others’ idea of boring, or have a different sense of humour from others. Or simply do not have as much time or resources to spare as others.
And that ends up affecting their happiness.
Come to think of it, who wouldn’t like to have a larger than life birthday party, collect funds they couldn’t have collected alone, avail the group discount coupon, or laugh at the silliest of jokes?
But life is, after all, not a piece of cake, and it’s not likely that you’ll always find people, rather, a group that vibrates at the same frequency as you. There are people who’re not made to sync with each other at everything and events with them occur in an awkward flow. Moreover, they stand together and you are alone like a mis-placed piece of something. So you start believing in their ideals. The truth must be what everyone says, isn’t it?
I want to tell you it’s not. They’re only as big a masterpiece as you. Some people believe the world revolves around them, and they’ll tell you that with such a certainty that you’ll start believing that too. But does it? Think if it like this- they’re only as superior as a person with brown eyes is to that with black eyes- not at all!
I want you to know that it’s okay to be different. Sometimes, it’s in fact great. You need to push away your fear of being judged or being alone.
You can wear that orange tie to the office now.
You don’t need to go to the coffee table with the team if you’d rather work at this hour. You don’t need to read fiction if you are into books based on facts and ideas around them.
Some people discovered their calling when they listened to themselves and not others. Some started their dream business when they stopped caring about the opinions of others. Some won an award when they volunteered for the things no one else did. So, know that success comes when you are confident about yourself. A lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinion of the sheep (GOT).
Though, loneliness comes along when you be a misfit. But that’s the price you have to pay if you want to achieve something great. As a wise man once said- “A successful person always walks alone”. No one remembers you after you’ve left anyway, so you might as well just listen to your intuitions, ideas, judgement.
