I agree in that the Democrats made it about Hillary. However, even changing the focus away from her wouldn’t have overcome the core issues that many minority voters had with the Democratic Party or Clinton as a candidate. I’m waiting for the Democratic Party to realize that she was not a good candidate and no matter how much you package; shift message; refocus it wouldn’t have overcome the core issues that drove the base voters away.

I agree that rural white voters, and white women voted against their own interests, but that doesn’t really have any impact on the loss of the Democratic base for failing to really address the grievances brought forth by these younger minority voters. Until that time and acknowledgement, I don’t feel unification would be possible.
