I am Vasant Trimbak Londhe. I was born on 1st January 1941.I am an Engineering Graduate passed out in 1962 from GSTI Indore.

Apprentice Junior Engineer

Even before my Engineering results were announced I joined Heavy Electricals (India) Ltd. Bhopal as Apprentice Junior Engineer where I was posted in Block 2. I was appreciated as a very good engineer by my boss. I had a very good opportunity of experiencing a very new type of cement concrete made out of iron ,sand and cement which was giving a very good base for heavy machines along with sparkling giving mirror like view. Here I continued from 05–05–1962 till 10–12 -1962

Junior Engineer

In December 1962, I got an appointment order from Major Irrigation Department Hoshangabad M.P. as a Junior Engineer. After wards I continued my service from Korba as Junior Engineer at Hasdeo Barrage where I had the first experience of preparing the planning, layout and receiving our Chief Engineer for his visit to our Project. I continued this site from 12–12–1962 till 11–06–1964.

Assistant Engineer

1. I was further promoted as Assistant Engineer on 12–06–1964 at the same Hasdeo Earthen Dam as Sub Divisional Officer.I had the experience of construction of an Earth Dam and continued till November 1964. Further I was posted as Sub Divisional Officer Hasdeo Canal Sub Division till June 1966 where I had the experience of excavation and construction of cement concrete lining for Canal. This Canal lining was for the first time in Madhya Pradesh which was done by me.

2. I was further transferred as Sub Divisional Officer Scarcity Sub Division at Durg for the construction of scarcity works in the whole Durg district and continued there till December 1968.

3. I was further transferred as Sub Divisional Officer Dudhawa Project Sub Division for construction of Dudhawa Project for the construction of its Waste Weir and controlling the seepage from the Dam till June 1970.

4. I was further transferred as Assistant Engineer in the office of the Superintending Engineer at Indore assisting the S E right from June 1970 till April 1973.

Executive Engineer

1. I was further promoted as Executive Engineer and posted as Executive Engineer (Designs) in the office of the Chief Engineer Narmada Tapti Basin Bhopal. There I was sent for getting the approval of some important medium schemes from Central Water and Power Commission New Delhi which I got the same in a very short time. I continued there from 15–05 1973 till April 1977.

2. I was further transferred as Executive Engineer Irrigation Division Baikunthpur District Surguja (which is now in state of Chhattisgarh).Here I was dealing with some Minor Schemes right from May 1977 till June 1978.

3. I was further transferred as cBargi Quality Control Division at Barginagar District Jabalpur. I was locally transferred to Masonry Dam Division and then again to Earthen Dam Division from June 1978 till June 1981.

4. I was further transferred as Executive Engineer Designs in the office of the Superintending Engineer Irrigation Circle Raipur. Here I was asked to take over additional charges of Engineering Administrative Officer in the office of the Chief Engineer Mahanadi Godavari Basin and other Executive Engineer(Designs) in the same office.I further continued there from June 1981 till February 1983.

5. I was further transferred as Executive Engineer Basnsagar Masonry Dam Division Deolond (District Shahdol) actually on the border of Rewa and Shahdol Districts. Here I worked for the Masonry Dam holding in the mean time Additional Charge of the Electrical & Mechanical Division at Deolond. here I continued from February 1983 till October 1985.

Superintending Engineer

1. I was further promoted as Superintending Engineer and posted as Superintending Engineer (Designs) in the office of the Chief Engineer Bansagar Project Rewa from October 1985 till November 1987.

2. I was further transferred as Superintending Engineer Irrigation circle Guna. here i worked for some Medium and Minor Schemes including Ruthiyai Dam for water supply to the National Fertilizers Limited factory near Raghogarh District Guna and continued there from November 1987 till July 1989.

3. I was further transferred as Superintending Engineer (Designs) in the office of the Chief Engineer Yamuna Basin Gwalior.Here I could continue only from July 1989 till September 1989.

4. I was further transferred as Superintending Engineer Irrigation circle Mandla for the survey of Two Major Irrigation and three Power Projects of Narmada Basin upstream of Bargi Project. Here I continued from September 1989 till October 1992.

5.I was further transferred as Superintending Engineer and posted as a controlling Officer in the Narmada Valley Development Authority Bhopal. Here I controlled the whole staff of all the Departments of the NVDA and continued from October 1992 till October 1993.

Chief Engineer

1. I was further promoted as Chief Engineer in November 1993 and posted as Chief Engineer Tube Well at Bhopal controlling the full Madhya Pradesh Tube Wells. Here I continued from November 1993 till June 1994.

2. I was further transferred as Chief Engineer Chambal Betwa Basin Bhopal controlling the full Basin and also the Gandhi Sagar Dam across Chambal River. Here I was asked to have additional charges of Chief Engineer (Monitoring)Office of the Engineer-in Chief, Survey and Investigations, Narmada Tapti Basin also. Here I continued from June 1994 till June 1995.

3. I was further transferred as Chief Engineer Yamuna Basin Gwalior. There i could continue from June 1995 till December 1995 only.

4. I was further transferred as Chief Engineer BODHI ( Bureau Of Designs Hydrology and Investigations)and continued there from December 1995 till December 1996 in the mean time holding Additional Charge of the office of the Engineer- in- Chief Bhopal.

5. I was further transferred as Chief Engineer Ganga Basin Rewa in December 1996. Here I had to take over Additional Charge of the office of the Chief Engineer Bansagar Project. Here I continued from December 1996 till April 1999.

Engineer-in-Chief

I was further promoted as Engineer-in-Chief and posted as Member (Planning) in NVDA from May 1999 till December 2000.

Retired Engineer -in- Chief

Now I run a Civil Engineering Consulting Firm specializing in Conceptualization,Design,Construction of Dam and Canal Projects along with River Water Intake structures. I have depth and breadth of experience of working in the field. I was the Engineer-in-Chief for the State of Madhya Pradesh and have had over 38 years of experience of executing a record of Two Million+ Cubic Meters of concrete and masonry leading engineering teams in construction of 7 major dams and over 140 smaller dams in 10 river basins in the state of Madhya Pradesh India. I also hold a record of executing 1.5 million cubic meters of earth work during one working season 1980–1981 (Nov-June).
