BEST PRACTICES FOR EXECUTION OF CONSOLIDATION GROUTING OVER VERY SOUND ROCK FOUNDATION
V T LONDHE JULY 1979–JUNE 1980
It is advised that the consolidation grouting operation be taken up only after the masonry for the dam is raised at least 3 m over the foundations. This is because of the fact that the foundation should not have any upheaval at the time of the grouting. However if the foundation of block after its exposure is found to be of a very sound hard rock, we can take up the work of consolidation grouting even before the foundation is covered with masonry.
