This assumes that most of the founders’ potential capital gains are tied to their token holdings. I would argue that very few founders see that as the main source of potential wealth. I believe they still see it in their stake of the company.

If we assume that the ICO funding is denominated in BTC and ETH mostly and they have a smart schedule of converting those proceeds into FIAT, they have locked in their funding (for the most part) and own shares of a company that is relatively well funded and has a guaranteed runway of x years. Dumping tokens will have very little effect.
