Trek to KheerGanga

Beauty of Himachal Pradesh.

This is going to be more of a photo post because its hard to put beauty in words (though professional writers will deny this claim☺)

Parvati River - Taken from the Bus (Delhi to Manali)
Rocky Bed — River Parvati

To go to kheerGanga you need to get down at a place called Bhuntar. It lies on the highway which connects Delhi and Manali.

There are very cheap buses which ply between Bhuntar and Bharshini. Avoid taking cabs since they are pretty expensive. Kasol is a very famous place which lies between these two towns (And i am sure you know why is it famous ☺).

After reaching Bharshini either you can start the trek from here or you can take a day’s halt at Kalga which is very close by to Bharshini.

We reached Bharshini in the evening so we had to stay over at Kalga.

Beauty of Kalga
It was unknown to us that the trek from Kalga is much more difficult than the one from Bharshini so be careful as this route can be extremely tricky during rainy days.
Beauty of kalga

There are many small houses in Kalga which offer rooms at around 300 Rs (5$) per day and they are pretty clean. The village is serene and the air here is very clean (height of village is around 6000ft).

We started our trek at around 10 in the morning after a gourmet breakfast which included pan cake, toast, tea etc.

Rough road from kalga. Can be very slippery even after a drizzle.
Road gets tougher. Crossing a thin log which was over the stream is risky.
Spectacular view
Nature at its best!
This place is very slippery and few people have died here!! Scary!
Thousands of water fall are present on the way!
Getting closer to the clouds!

KheerGanga is a very small place. Maximum number of people at any point would be hundred.

There are lot of warm and cosy cafe’s out there which provide really cheap rooms to stay. The price again ranges from 300-600 Rs per day.

Cafe with a lovely view of the mountains.
View from KeerGanga.
Panoramic view!

This place is famous for its hot springs. People claim that it has healing powers and especially any skin disease gets healed up if you take a dip in these waters.

Hot Spring!
View in the morning.
Snow clad peaks very close from the camp.

We stayed at the top for nearly a day and started our descent at around 10 in the morning. This time we took the easier route because it rained in the night and the kalga route can be dangerous.

Now who says this route is easy!!

We thought this route will be easy but we were wrong!

Met some friends on the way.
Met a kid. He was so happy getting photographed. ☺
Last bridge that we need to cross to reach Barshini.

In conclusion it is a must visit place. If you are into hiking then you would want to come back again. ☺
