Dream and Friendship
It was a beautiful early morning. I was in a place, a kind of egg shaped land. Full of green around. At the end of one corner, there is a pond which is connected to a small canal. The pond has some algal blooms here and there. It was surrounded by trees, the morning yellow lights were coming through the trees and reflecting in the water. Wow… I took my camera and started clicking. A boy was taking bath in that pond. I asked the boy do some crazy things so that I can shoot some water splash pics. He did the same with full of enthusiasm and fun. I checked my camera preview. what a click I got. oh man, Beautiful. I told myself. The lights are damn cool and well balanced. I wanted more clicks. I asked my friend Hari. “Da haree, chaadu. kuthi mariyoo… aa light varunna sthalathu nilkkanam traa… (dude, jump into the water. Go to that place where the lights were in a perfect way).” So this boy and Hari started swimming and playing in the pond. I keep on clicking. Some snaps with mountain backdrops, some with water splashes and some with their enjoying faces. Loved it.
Yeah, It was my morning dream. :) I have been lying in the bed thinking about the beautiful scenes. It was a feel. Green… lights… shades… I could feel the coolness. I still remember the frames I shot. I was wondering, why Hari as a co-traveller with me in that strange place. We never travelled together. It’s been a long time we met. We don’t call or chat often. I still remember the first day I met Hari.
It was long ago. Yeah, every story starts with the same pattern. :) More than a decade ago, I was working as an Intern in a computer education centre. The days where I was Going through all the depression modes / rebellion thoughts/ anger against society/ what not. One fine morning, I was in the (computer centre’s) washroom. Someone opened the door. I didn’t mind. After some moments, heard a voice from my backside “ningalaanalle Sijeesh?”. I turned my head. I saw one thin guy who was dressed in a formal way and his forehead was completely occupied with the ‘Yellow Kalabham’. I said, “yes, am sijeesh”.
That was his mass entry into my life. We worked together and stayed together for some time. We used to keep his earphones into a small mug and listened to music in the nights. Hari introduced me ( Malayalam medium boy) the new music genres. It was more Hindi and English songs. Now, (While writing these lines) am listening to Bombay Vikings which we used to listen in those days. It’s not that the songs are great but I can easily go back and recollect the golden moments. Sometimes, he extended his support when I was struggling with my wrong career. Later I realised and decided to follow my heart. Tell the stories through colours , shapes and words. My first design portfolio was created by using his laptop. I think, He has seen all the changes in my life.
Oh sorry, it’s not a friendship day to write about friends, right?. For me, all days (whole life) are friendship days. :) It’s one Hari. Am happy that I have more friends like Hari with lots of humor sense and empathy. I wrote about him today because he was in my morning dream. You know, we are living in a beautiful world with a these kinda awesome people.
Let’s celebrate the life.
