April-June is the best time to visit any wildlife sanctuary in India. Ranthambhore, Rajasthan is one of the most popular tiger reserves and has the highest population of tigers in India. Thousands of travelers visit the park during this season just to get a glimpse of the beautiful beast.

A few things which can help you plan better and get the best out of you trip are:

1. Plan in advance — Ranthambhore has 8-9 zones/core areas where the tigers can be spotted. Chances of spotting a tiger in zones 1-5 is the highest. In case you do want to spot a tiger, book a safari 90 days in advance.

2. Book a Jeep — The best way to commute within the park is on a jeep. There are canters which carry 20-30 people and can get really noisy and annoying. Its always better to book a jeep which can accommodate a maximum of 6 people.

3. The Right driver/guide — The right guide/driver makes all the difference in spotting a tiger. The right guide understands your need to get a great view (light has to be right) just to capture the perfect shot. So, never compromise on spending the extra buck to get the right guide.

4. Carry the Right clothes — The temperatures can soar upto 50 degrees during the summer season. Always better to carry a sunscreen, a hat and lots of water while venturing out.

5. Resort booking (dont be too fussy) — Ranthambhore has some very good options for resorts across all price ranges. The hospitality in this part of India is unmatched. So, dont fret too much over the kind of rooms and cleanliness in these places.
