At the mobilization meeting, Yu Zhenlong, director of the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau of Wengniute Banner, shared a summary of key findings from the first-phase of the agricultural product quality traceability platform, reporting on the results.

The Market Supervision Bureau registered and approved 5 geographical product trademarks including Wengniute beef, Wengniu special mutton, Wengniu special rice, Wengniu special millet and Wengniu special sunflower. Additional applications were made for Wengniute buckwheat and other products. Yu’s Bureau said that in the registration process, the Wengniute Banner agricultural product traceability platform proved to be an important tool. The non-tamperable data recorded by VeChainThor ensured “natural, healthy and safe” assurances for Wengniute Banner agricultural and livestock products.

At the same time, Yu called on Wengqi enterprises to actively participate in the construction of the second phase of the platform, adding more food types and brands of agricultural and livestock products to the traceability system. Thanks to VeChain Tech’s platform, the level of food safety supervision and brand enhancement for the region has been significantly upgraded.

Liu Mingyu, VeChain Technology’s representative, explained the Wengqi agricultural product quality and safety traceability platform and follow-up installation plan in detail to the enterprises present.

During COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns, VeChain Technology had to overcome many difficulties in efficiently completing the platform’s functional integration and system delivery. For the second-phase of the traceability system, the platform benefits from vastly improved the data entry structure for regions and their agricultural products, covering as many products and enterprises as possible.

At the 19th National Governmental Congress, a major strategic decision was made relating to the revitalization of rural industry. The overall goal of this new strategic direction was to modernize agriculture and invigorate rural areas with new technologies and jobs, establishing and improving institutional mechanisms and policy systems.

The Wengqi Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Traceability System Project is built on the VeChain Foundation’s blockchain technology, with one platform, one portal and six systems, digitizing the whole production process of Wengqi agriculture and livestock products from “farm and pasture to dining table”.

After scanning the QR code on food packaging, consumers can view the production and processing cycles of foods themselves, including quality inspection information, raw material traceability information and corporate brand stories.

The traceability platform helps the Wengniute Banner create a unified brand identity for its agricultural and livestock products, cultivating brand excellence.
