Bundesliga 2017/18 Match day 14
Bayern 3–1 Hannover
Bayern up against Hannover on this occasion was a very interesting match to look forward to for the critics and analysts as to how they were gonna perform with Thomas Müller making a comeback from his injury.
The match started with the home side having full control of the ball. Javi Martinez went on to playing his usual role, staying deep and reading the game. With Thiago being absent, Vidal played an offensive game, making a lot of runs in the opposition penalty box; James was practically everywhere to satisfy his own role along with Thiago’s.
Müller played his wide role in the right flank beautifully, eventually providing assists to Vidal and Coman on the occasion. Also, he was the one who provided Robert Lewandowski with the assist for his disallowed goal. In a nutshell, his role at the right flank has always been a no-nonsense, minimal-dribbling, only crossing and passing the ball and being productive with good Coordination with his RB.
Though conceding a goal, Ulriech saved a penalty earlier in the first half, which gives Jupp Heynckes another reason to offer him a contract extension.
The home side created a ridiculous amount of chances in the opening half, either by shooting or putting dangerous balls in the box.
Second half saw a highly determined Bayern side willing to attack more than ever to confirm their 3 points on the night.
James, who was particularly unlucky to see his three attempts go just an inch wide off the target, was lively when it came to chance creation and ball distribution. Kingsley Coman had arguably his best game in Bayern colors owing to his pace, dribbles, crosses, and shots on target.
On the other hand, Javi Martinez who played an important role during the first half, was less sought in the second half before being taken off for the record signing Corentin Tolisso. This made Vidal drop deep to play Javi’s role allowing Tolisso to play more offensive in search for a breakthrough, which eventually came through Coman.
Lewandowski, as a result of high attack intensity from Bayern, became super active during the final 15 minutes ultimately scoring from the spot, a thing which he’s expert at.
Robert Lewandowski, who was quite patient to find a scoring opportunity, finally got a goal to his name, eventually ending Hannover’s hopes of getting the points shared.
Things to learn from the game :-
- Sven Ulriech surely deserves more playing time, even when Neuer’s fit.
- Lewandowski always finds a way to score to continue his goalscoring run.
- Jupp Heynckes should definitely use the defensive duo of Hummels and Boateng for next clash against PSG.
- Müller, the interpreter of space is massively effective when it comes to intensity of attack.
- Tolisso can always be a good choice as a super sub.
- James has adapted quite well when it comes to fulfillment of Thiago’s absence.
- Coman has every aspect of a good winger.
