Getting started with CREO
Recently, I have signed up for the certification course for CREO Fundamental 3D- Design in Udemy. I am very happy and would like to share my experience with this course.
CREO is a 3D CAD modeling software developed by the PTC Corporation for the Product design in the year 2011. Formerly, it is known as Pro-Engineer / Pro-E. The CREO Parametric is one one of the software has a bundle of application like 2D Sketch, Solid Modelling, Sheet metal design, Assembly modeling, Surface Modeling, Parametric modeling, Finite element Analysis, Simulation etc. It is one of the powerful and demanding tools in the industry for Product design. CREO is very similar to the tools like CATIA, Solid Works, Unigraphics/NG.
Why CREO: In recent days, CREO is emerging and highly used software in the Product design and modeling, most of the companies migrating to Classic Auto CAD to CREO software. When compared to other modeling software in the market, CREO is most preferable because of the better features, design flexibility, user-friendly, much easier to use and importantly available in a cheaper cost of the business license and also offers the free version to the students and staffs.
About this Course: This is a well-structured course to give you the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to be a CREO designer and it covers the following Modules.
- 2D Sketch Modeling
- 3D Modelling
- Advance Surface Modeling
- Drafting and Drawing
- Assembly Modeling
- Sheet metal design
- Basics of Simulation
This course consists of the bundle of video lectures of around 10 hrs covers different section, Practice models, assignments quizzes in each section and the way it is designed to give the complete and in-depth knowledge of every tool used to make the designed model or drawings with examples. The instructor explaining each and every tool and commands by providing an example with a demo. Personally, I feel from this course, it is quite easy to get the knowledge of this tool, for those people who know nothing about CREO.
So far, I have completed three sections which include Introduction, basic sketches, and Sketch edit & Modify. In these sections, it starts with basics, command intro and its use, 2D Sketch, edits and modifying of the sketch and now its slowly towards the part modeling.
I am quite excited about the course and looking forward to exploring all the features of CREO. I will update more about the course, outcome and its effectiveness in my next post.
