There is definitely life after toxic, abusive relationships.

I’m a testament to that. My career is going fantastic, and overall, I’m feeling great. I have some health issues here and there, but I’m working on it.

I’ve been traveling. In October 2023, I went to Havana and Viñales, Cuba.

I guess that was my ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ journey.

I signed up for a dance school, furthering my skills in salsa dancing. Right now, I’m in Colombia, exploring Medellín, and taking bachata and kizomba lessons — dancing connects you back to your body and takes your mind off the nonsense you’ve been wasting your precious life on — a.k.a. toxic relationships. You gotta get out there! You have to do something experiential, take yourself out of your daily environment — shock your system with something new. Challenge your comfort zone. That’s the way to grow. Otherwise, you’ll keep staying stuck in your mind and stories.

Aside from traveling, I’m deeply committed to continuous education and personal growth. I enjoy Dr. Gabor Mate’s Circle Groups. I’ll probably re-register a few more times. It takes time to peel off old habits and re-wire your brain. The circle groups are 10 weeks long, 2 hrs a week. It’s basically therapy in a group, via zoom. $30 a week (you get this discount if you purchased the self-study short course). I highly recommend it. Plus I’m constantly listening to podcasts along the topics of psychology, spirituality, personal growth and development. Below are some resources.

In general, I’m kinda done with studying more about “toxic antagonistic people”. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ramani in Los Angeles a few months ago at the book signing of her new book “It’s Not You”. But I have to admit, these days I’m having a hard time reading anything around heavy, dark, and painful dynamics. I find myself wanting to immerse myself in journey’s of healing that bring light and brightness to my days.

So here we go, a few more resources as promised:

Jimmy On Relationships — Fantastic content on relationship dynamics. Delivered in a short, super precise, yet humorous approach.

Robert Greene — I think at times people misunderstand this author, but if you really listen, he is incredibly insightful.

Andre Duqum — deep, thought-provoking.

The Diary of a CEO — don’t be mislead by the title.

Lewis Howes — I’m sure you know of him.

Dr. Gabor Mate — as you know, I love him! You find way more and better interviews by simply YouTube’ing his name.

That’s it for today. I have so much I want to share with you about growth, new insights and just living one’s life. But I only got two days left in Columbia. So hold tight, I shall be back soon with more thoughts!

And remember — keep going, no matter what! You are doing great. You can do it!
