The TRUTH about Intermittent Fasting

There’s a lot of hype surrounding intermittent fasting and if it can really help you loose weight and help you build muscle.

World-known bodybuilders and figures, mainly Greg O’ Gallagher from Kinobody, credit their success to intermittent fasting and leaving an almost 16-hour window of no food in the morning.

How it Works:

The most common type of Intermittent Fasting is the 16/8 Method. You fast for 16 hours and have an 8 hour window to eat, mostly from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. In this window, you get all your calories in and prepare for the fast. During the fast, you can take in water, coffee, or tea to soothe the feelings of hunger

And although it’s admittedly mostly bro-science, intermittent fasting does have some scientific evidence to back it up. The problem with this evidence is that it was generated from studies done on rats, not humans. So, it’s not 100% convincing.

The important thing to make sure is that during that 8-hour window you stick to healthy and fresh food options in order to reap the benefits. If you just use that time for junk food, then it makes no sense to fast.

Intermittent fasting, if done right, can definitely give you benefits like weight loss, increased metabolism and muscle growth BUT you have to maintain your caloric deficit and stick to the healthy foods.
