Nevada ballot 2018: Question 2; Make tampons and pads tax exempt , I’m Voting Yes

tl;dr: Nevada sales tax is avg 6.85%. Medical items are exempt, except feminine hygiene products needed monthly (tampons and pads) by 49.5% of population in Nevada. This would make the items tax exempt saving women money every month.

No money was spent to support or oppose this in Nevada. Think about that. It’s pretty straight forward. Democrats and Republicans supported this unanimously here in Nevada.

Someone is wondering “hey, but what about the tax $ we’ll lose?”. The Nevada Department of Taxation says a tax exemption on feminine hygiene products would cost the state’s general fund up to $2 million in sales tax revenue.
The state’s total sales tax collections come to nearly $1.2 billion per year.

I think we’ll be fine. Vote yes.
