If you’re planning a trip to London, then arriving in Victoria Station is a must. It’s one of the most central stations in the capital and there are many sights to explore and discover. Today, we’re going to look at some of the best things to see around Victoria Station.

The Station

The first thing we would recommend, before you go rushing out into the big city, is to sit down at one of the station’s cafes and just absorb some of the culture of the station itself. This is a beautiful building and well worth a visit in itself, if only to experience some of the greatest feats of engineering from a time that is arguably old-fashioned. It’s incredible what the people of Victorian England achieved, and Victorian Station is one of its crowning glories.

Take in the architecture and history of the place within the backdrop of a busy, fast-paced, and exciting station. The people you’ll see — characters one and all.

The Victoria & Albert Museum

Next, take a jaunt through the streets of Westminster to the Victoria & Albert museum. Here, you’ll learn much about the ingenuity, exquisite taste, and awe of the Victorian age — some of it isn’t for the faint hearted!

From clothing to artefacts, there’s so much to explore under one roof, 4.5 million to be exact! Yes, it will take more take a lifetime to see it all — ensuring that you saw 175 items a day, 365 days a year, for 70 years! There’s no time to get bored, that’s for sure.

Many people choose to stay in one of the hotels around Victoria Station London and spend a good few days exploring the museum.

Apollo Victoria Theatre

Not to be confused with the Apollo Theatre, which, incidentally, is just up the road. The Apollo Victoria Theatre is a great example of West End theatre. Currently home to the critically acclaimed “Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz”, prepare to be spellbound. With tickets as little as £21.75, it’s surprisingly affordable for a prime-time theatre venue.

Of course, if you’re looking for a bit more diversity, then head to the Apollo Theatre. Here, you can catch performances from some of the country’s best comedians, as well as some more obscure faces.

Cardinal Place

If shopping’s up your street, then you can of course visit Harrods and experience one of the most iconic shopping experiences the UK has to offer. However, don’t miss out on the gem that is Cardinal Place. A shopping mall full of all the latest fashions, but housed in one of the most beautiful buildings around.

It’s an incredible place to visit, especially around Christmas time in the late afternoon. Sure, it’s incredibly busy, but the majesty of the place makes up for the hub and rub of the hoarding masses.

This is London, and finding a quiet place in this area of the city isn’t always possible…well…not until you retreat to one of the hotels around Victoria Station London, where you can recuperate in time for tomorrow’s explorations!
