On a lazy weekend, Tteokbokki would be the best vegetarian dish that is perfect for those who want to eat something good, but don’t want to go out.🎈

If you’re curious about the detailed recipe for chewy oil Tteokbokki, click this

😊Ingredients ( 1 serving)

2 cups of rice cake (Tteok)
1 + 1/2 tablespoons of red pepper powder
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
1 tablespoon of honey (or alternative sweetener)
1 + 1/2 of tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon of veggie oil

1. Boil rice cakes in the boiling water for 2 minutes to soften them.
(If soft already, you may skip this step. If frozen, you may have to soak the rice cake pieces in water in advance.

Tip: Drain the rice cakes to avoid oil splash during cooking.

2. Put the prepared sauce ingredients to a large bowl and mix well.

3. Add in the soft rice cakes and get them coated with the sauce evenly.

4. Heat the pan, add cooking oil, and cook the rice cake with the sauce thoroughly.

Tip: Don’t overcook; the sauce will become too sticky / Tteok will become mushy.
