Journal for 04-Feb-16
A minor incident happened in the morning: one of my clients called and said all their records done on 03-Feb were all gone!!
Apparently when I was updating their inventory part numbers, I had used one of the older databases to do the updating, so when I restore it to their live server, they could not find the previous day’s records.
Luckily I did a backup of the 03-Feb records before the updating, so my colleague could restore that particular backup, and all is fine. Which also meant I have to do the updating again in the evening.
The conference website research continued, and guiding from the stakeholders’ preferences, it would be a toned-down site to appeal to the big boy investors.

Did a conference call with the project manager in the evening, who brought me updates about this project. There were some changes in the plans and delivery schedule, but we would still be going ahead. We are akin to walking on a fine thread.
But before that, I paid a visit to my mentor whose office is located somewhat close to mine. We had a brief but good catch up where he shared with me about his ups-and-downs that took place in 2015, and now things are progressing very well with his business.
The reason I like speaking with him is because there are always new insights about business, life, and everything in between. His straightforwardness does not sit well with many, but he did it with passion. Yet again, not easily appreciated, especially it comes to you like a blunt knife instead of lollipop. Still, when did good advices come in candy wrappings?
Today was a milestone for me personally, as I decide to join a mastermind group to grow and scale my web and user experience design business. So the night had me occupied going through all the conversations which have happened before my entrance, and completing my introduction to the other mates.
The purpose of the group is for all members to the first 1k in one month, and 1k or more for each subsequent months, under the mentorship of a very experienced Internet Marketer Sam Choo. More about him in times to come.
I really need to get the ass off the seat and really really hustle, put words into actions. I am apply the stick first, by paying for the mentorship, and switch to carrot mode once I turn those actions into habits.
Even though I ended the night rather late, but still The Dark Tower beckoned, and by the time my head hit the pillow, it was already past 3:30am.
